Castlemead Poultry
Cold room Panelling and Refrigeration Equipment
“We chose to use Ian Hobbs for our large abattoir redevelopment. Hobbs were competitively priced against other companies and their quality of work and expertise was excellent. Their staff on site were always tidy, co operative with other contractors and efficient”
– Stuart Perkins, Director at Castlemead Poultry
Run by Stuart Perkins, Castlemead Poultry is a leading producer of fine free range chicken, eggs and Christmas Poultry. They are passionate about providing local outlets and local customers with the best quality locally produced chicken.
Stuart also wanted to use local suppliers and contractors in the construction of his new processing plant and Ian Hobbs Technical Services were brought in to design, supply and install various cold rooms and refrigeration equipment for the new processing plant at Stuart’s farm.
Spec: To supply and install 100mm PIR insulation panelling and ceilings to all chilled temperature areas plus the staff area, staff toilets and office area and to install a low temperature condensing unit and evaporator to maintain the freezer coldroom at -20C°
To install a refrigeration pack and remote air cooled condenser with suitable valves and controls coupled to individual evaporators in each room to maintain the chilled areas at the temperatures indicated on the plan provided. Each room will have a control panel to give individual temperature and defrost control with constant digital temperature display indicating room temperature.
The large scale project went to plan and the project was completed in December 2014. Photographs of the progress and completed project can be seen above. Castlemead Poultry are to be on a planned preventative maintenance contract to ensure the units continue to run efficiently and safely in the future.
