The Radstock Co-operative Society are an independent, member owned co-operative retailer with a superstore and numerous convenience stores around Somerset. The company is committed to ‘demonstrating regard for the environment’ so their remit for the refurbishment of the Radstock store was to have the building at a comfortable and ambient temperature whilst also being energy efficient.
Radstock Co-operative Society are a long term existing customer and asked Ian Hobbs Technical Services to design the refrigeration and air conditioning systems specifically to meet the needs of the superstore. Our role in the re-development was to fully manage, install and commission the refrigeration and air conditioning systems for the store. Our approach to energy consumption is simple; reduce consumption across the business by using energy efficient equipment.
Our installation team worked alongside the shop fitting company and during this period of time, we carried out full installation of air conditioning, low energy chiller and freezer cabinets as well as a 70kw dual temperature 10 scroll compressor external pack. All refrigerated cabinets were installed with full RDM digital control systems and data management systems.
The store successfully re-launched on the 4th June 2014 and Ian Hobbs Technical Services are proud to have been a part of the project. The images above show the progression of the installations.
